Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
ToneScoop ("we", "us" or "our") provides an audio conversion and processing application ("the App") that converts video/audio files to MP3, makes ringtones, and provides audio processing features such as denoising and vocal separation. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the App. By downloading or using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
The App is designed with privacy in mind:
- The App does not require registration or an account. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personal data.
- All audio/video processing happens locally on your device. The files you import, convert, or process are not uploaded to, or stored on, our servers, and we never access (nor are we able to access) your files.
- We do not collect, record, or store any biometric data.
3. Information We Collect Automatically
When you use the App, we or our service providers may automatically collect limited technical information, including:
- Device information: device model, operating system version, and device identifiers such as the Identifier for Advertising (IDFA), subject to your choices under the App Tracking Transparency framework.
- Usage details: basic interaction data needed to operate and improve the App, such as crash reports and performance data.
This information is used to operate the App, estimate audience size and usage patterns, and improve stability and user experience.
4. Advertising
The App displays advertisements to free users through Google AdMob (https://admob.google.com). AdMob may collect and use device identifiers and advertising identifiers to serve and measure ads, in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).
The App may request permission to track you across apps and websites owned by other companies (App Tracking Transparency). If you deny this permission, advertising identifiers will not be used for cross-app tracking. You can also limit ad tracking in your device settings (Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking) or reset your advertising identifier at any time.
We do not sell your information to third parties.
5. In-App Purchases
The App offers subscriptions and a one-time lifetime purchase through the App Store and Google Play billing. All payments are processed and handled by Apple/Google. We do not collect or store your payment information (such as credit card numbers). Your purchases are governed by the respective store's terms and privacy policy.
6. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services:
- Google AdMob (https://admob.google.com) — serves advertisements in the App.
These third parties have their own privacy policies, and this Policy does not govern their use of your information. We encourage you to review their privacy policies for more information.
7. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the App and its features;
- Deliver advertisements in the free tier and measure ad performance;
- Monitor and analyze usage trends to improve the App;
- Detect, prevent, and address technical issues (e.g., crash reporting);
- Comply with applicable laws and regulations.
8. Disclosure of Information
We may disclose aggregated or de-identified information that does not identify any individual, without restriction. We may disclose your information:
- To service providers who support our business and are bound by confidentiality obligations;
- To comply with a court order, law, or legal process;
- To enforce our rights or protect the safety of our users or the public;
- In connection with a merger, sale, or transfer of assets, with appropriate notice.
9. Data Security
We have implemented reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information from accidental loss and unauthorized access. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Since the App processes your audio files locally on your device, your files remain under your control and are not exposed to our servers.
10. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us, and we will delete it.
11. Your Privacy Rights
If you are a resident of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California, you may have additional rights under applicable law (e.g., GDPR, CCPA/CPRA), including the right to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email address below. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "effective date" above and, where appropriate, notify you within the App. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
